Peter Levitan

Since 2006, Peter has consummated leases and sales with a gross value in excess $500 Million. His resume includes numerous influential deals throughout New York City, including some of Brooklyn’s most transformative deals. Among Mr. Levitan’s notable transactions are his leasing of 247 Bedford Avenue to Apple, 85-103 N 3rd Street to Ralph Lauren’s brand RRL, 129 N 6th Street to Lululemon, 241 Bedford to Sephora, 102 N 6th to VF Corp’s Van’s, and his sale of 184 Bedford Avenue which was the highest price per buildable square foot in 2014 for all of  New  York  City and  highest ever received in Brooklyn. On the landlord side,  he  has  closed  deals  with  SL  Green,  Brookfield  Properties,  Redsky  Capital,  Waterbridge  Capital, C&K Properties, Vornado Jack Resnick & Sons, and The Estate of Sol Goldman.

Prior to starting LEVITAN, Peter joined Sierra Realty in 2006 as one of the company’s three original brokers. After growing sales through the recession, the company partnered with the national firm Lee & Associates in 2011 and promoted him to principal. Mr. Levitan  spearheaded the company’s presence in Brooklyn and established a reputation as a leading broker in the borough. Many of his deals played a major role in Brooklyn’s ascendance into an international retail destination. In 2017 Mr. Levitan formed LEVITAN to further develop his comprehensive analyses of  real estate markets, help tenants identify opportunities, and help landlords market their properties.

Peter was named in The Commercial Observer’s 30 under 30 in 2013, and selected as one of Commercial Observer’s “Brokers to Watch in 2012.” He has also been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, New York Post, Crain’s NY Business Magazine, and has bylined numerous articles in trade publications. Mr. Levitan became the youngest Real Estate Board of New York’s (REBNY) committee chairman when he was elected to serve on the commercial Brooklyn committee.  He also sits on the advisory board for REBNY’s Brooklyn retail rent reports, REBNY’s retail committee, is a licensed Real Estate Broker in New York, and an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). A native New Yorker, he was born and raised in Manhattan, is a graduate of The Horace Mann School and Connecticut College, and currently lives in Brooklyn Heights.
